Elysian Detroit is a very small (one man!) independent publisher of works I think have enough intrinsic worth to be published but which have been, or are likely to be, unsuccessful in attracting the attention of traditional publishers.
This doesn’t mean I invite submissions from anyone who has failed to attract other publishers’ attention. I once hoped to take on six books a year, mostly from friends, family, and acquaintances, not through unsolicited submissions. But now, I have moved on to other pursuits and am unlikely to take on more than one a year. You should understand, too, that unlike a traditional publisher I do not market Elysian books. Marketing and promotions are up to the author.
In the unlikely event I take on any new works, my standard contract is 50% of royalties net of our costs go to you, 50% to me.
I would like to do more, because I like the publishing and editing process and I like to see worthy effort rewarded at least with a product to hold in the hand. Regrettably, I just don’t have enough time.
